There is no doubt that COVID-19 is affecting people on multiple levels and we should not underestimate the short term and long term impact of the pandemic. At the time of writing this blog, restrictive measures are being lifted after 3 months of ‘lockdown’ for most of the population. Increases in anxiety, depression, stress and loneliness have been directly associated with the pandemic and these issues will not decrease immediately.
A study of 90,000 adults by The Health Foundation found that 69% of people are worried about the impact of the virus on their lives. Hypnotherapy and holistic counselling can help with anxiety related to our health, adjusting to new ways of living, changes in working patterns, managing relationships and supporting children, as well as for those who have worked on the frontline and now able to stop and reflect, or those who suffered loss as a result of the virus: loss of a loved one, loss of a job or loss of what was pre COVID-19.
